Epicor is thrilled to announce the 25.1 release of Epicor ECM, delivering a suite of new products and features aimed at transforming the way businesses manage content and automate processes. This release marks a significant milestone in Epicor’s ongoing commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions for its users.

"ECM 25.1 marks the beginning of a new era—where AI doesn't just read your documents, it understands them. This release is our bold step toward intelligent, automated content experiences—and there’s much more to come."

Rahul Agarwal

Senior Manager, Product Management

The 25.1 release amplifies ECM with Epicor’s latest developments in machine learning: Epicor Prism. By partnering with Prism, ECM unlocks new potential to deliver intelligent document insights, empowering users with faster, smarter decision-making capabilities. This collaboration brings AI-driven content understanding directly into Prism, enabling them to extract value from their documents like never before.

Key Features and Products

Epicor ECM Agent for Epicor Prism Users (Kinetic Only)

Epicor Prism users now can leverage the power of their documents stored in ECM’s content repository and will receive data-backed answers to any questions asked within Prism. The ECM agent pulls data and analysis from documents like SOPs, training manuals, invoices, and more to provide users with meaningful answers to complex queries instantly. With this new feature, users no longer must sift through files to find evidence buried in documents; the ECM Agent pulls relevant information and compiles it automatically.

For example, a customer service representative can ask Prism, “What’s the return policy for international orders?” and instantly receive a summarized answer pulled from the latest SOPs and policy documents stored in ECM, saving time and helping ensure accurate responses.

Early adopters have benefited from this new Prism agent, saving time and providing essential data efficiently. One user, Andy Young of Olympus Group, stated: "ECM allows us to store our unique instructions and problem-solving guides so they can be referenced by anyone in the company. The ECM Agent for Prism acts as a troubleshooting agent, saving us 5 to 10 minutes each time we need to research our documents."

AP Automation for Freight in Kinetic

The new “AP Automation for Freight” for Kinetic users allows AP departments to automatically validate shipping invoices against original Quick Ship estimates. With this new workflow, businesses can save money by easily identifying shipments where the actual price is higher than the estimated price and consolidating these discrepancies. This powerful integration between ECM, Quick Ship, and Kinetic will help streamline financial workflows and reduce manual labor.

With AP Automation for Freight, businesses processing hundreds of shipments monthly could save thousands annually by automatically flagging freight overcharges.

Custom Business Processes with ECM Forms and Workflows

System owners can now enable custom business processes to supplement Kinetic by initiating ECM Forms/Workflow within Kinetic BPM, offering enhanced customization and process integration. For example, a company could trigger a custom onboarding checklist when a new employee is added to Kinetic, enabling all departments to complete their tasks on time.

Enhanced SaaS Features

New features introduced for SaaS customers significantly reduce reliance on ECM’s On Prem Client, providing more flexibility and scalability for cloud-based deployments. Users can now access cloud-based authentication providers from any device with ECM installed. This shift enables remote teams to access ECM securely from any location, improving collaboration and reducing IT overhead.

IDC Form Summary

A simplified, lower-cost version of IDC Document Summary is coming to ECM.  This scaled down version gives stand-alone ECM customers the ability to extract data from static forms. This feature is perfect for automatically capturing standard (e.g. W-9) or customer-created paper forms (e.g. registration forms).

Streamlining Your Future
