4x
Cloud users recover from downtime 4x faster than non-cloud users.
Moves are never easy. They’re a big decision and moving to the cloud is no exception. The change can help your business though, improving flexibility, staying current, reduced need for disaster recovery and simplifying your overall costs. Whether you are new to Epicor ECM or a current user considering the transition to the cloud, there are overwhelming benefits to make the move NOW.
Focus on your business rather than updates and maintenance. With a cloud migration, we continuously update DocStar via minor releases that allow DocStar with critical updates automatically.
When businesses move to the cloud it reduces the need for a complex disaster recovery plan. A recent report from Microsoft found that 94% of SMBs have experienced security benefits with the cloud, including up-to-date systems, virus protection and spam email management. 96% that use the cloud are confident their cloud provider can quickly and effectively restore service during an outage. As an additional benefit of the cloud, the time required to recover from any downtime event is 4 times faster for cloud users than non-users.
Because DocStar in the Cloud is delivered over the internet, no servers or hardware are required. With no hardware or system maintenance costs, your IT costs become predictable. These resources can then be moved to concentrate on driving real strategic value.
If you’ve got an Internet connection, you can work. With the cloud, you can give your employees the ability to produce wherever they happen to be. So, they can enjoy the work-life balance that suits them, and you can enjoy greater loyalty and output.
There are three scenarios that most companies have:
We need to have an SE validate—for a basic install this can be inside of a week after the project is kicked-off.
Others may take a little longer.
Reach out to your Territory Manager and they will include a Solution Engineer.
Just like ECM/DocStar or Eclipse on-premises we can move ECM/DocStar V3 content to SaaS. We do have to review your configuration and if you have any other dependencies.
Yes, if you do not want any changes that is faster to export and import.
ECM/DocStar can support your current authentication or use a new method—the SE can scope that with you.
No. You can keep that running for as long as you need to. But just be aware, that the support will not be available unless you're current and the operating systems are supported.
In ECM/DocStar Version 22 there is a tool called Document Exporter enabling you to schedule downloads of your documents. There is no need to open a support ticket.
We need to have the SE and Territory Manager review your configuration.
The answer is typically no. But please schedule time with your sales staff member for us to review the size and complexity of that database. You might be able to move that to Microsoft hosting but requires further scoping.
We agree that having an on-premises addresses your stated problem if you have employees in the office. There is no off-line viewer, but our application is web-based, and you do have an option with a mobile device when using our software as a service.
Yes. When you talk with the Territory Manager and Solution Engineer write down what files would need to be moved. That might be a date range or a specific file type.
The answer is normally no. We will need to review if your forms leverage any DataLinks to different databases.
But there is a benefit if you use forms in our environment because you can make forms publicly accessible if you want.
DocStar replaced the reporting module. We did another webinar on that previously to show the difference between the previous reports and the new reporting module powered by Exago. We did rename the reports that you know today as legacy reports. Now you can keep that on-premises until a new report can be made that matches your needs.
We do offer a SaaS version of IDC. We will be happy to review your configuration to determine if this works for your company.
The ECM/DocStar Client is an integral part of the overall solution, and a local client can act as the proxy between your ERPs with DataLink.
No. Your end-users will need to login as they did in the past. Then the plug-in will behave the same way.
